Hank Mobley, Wynton Kelly, Art Blakey, Thelonious Monk, Mulgrew Miller, Miles Davis, Brian Blade, Jaco Pastorious, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Dave Weckl, Roy Hargrove, Robert Glasper, Chris Dave, Gerald Clayton, Brad Mehldau and Aaron Golberg are just few to mention that inspire the making of their music.  They try to put a simple jazz music concept; bridging the traditional and modern jazz without losing its characteristics.  You will hear straight ahead, blues, post-bop, funk, groove, and gospel influence inside their magical music.  May 2015, they released their very first studio album, titled “Yes, We Meet Again” which you can hear their musical journey from the beginning.  The album has become a “first report” of their jazz studies for years and 6 original songs made by Christ Stanley arranged by HWP.

The Balinese Art Foundation of Saraswati

KULKUL

Formed 5 years ago, the members of this band are mostly very young musicians.  They have idealism and vision in music and in collaborating the modern music with the mythical Balinese music was their vision. Holding the same spirit and supported by their high skills, Demas Narawangsa (drums), Didiet (violin), Awan (bass), Adit (keyboard) and Faisal (guitar) established KulKul in 2005.
The mission is simple, to keep the specific taste of exotics carried by Balinese music as a part of Indonesian heritage. The mission could sound simple, but certainly it wouldn’t be easy to carry.  Then this mission has grabbed the interest of Lembaga Kesenian Bali Saraswati (The Balinese Art Foundation of Saraswati) led by I Gusti Kompyang Raka.
